Our Story

In 2017, Cornerstone set out to be a church-planting church. It’s our belief that the kingdom of God is multiplicative; that living things grow and start new things; that we can be open-handed with what we have because God’s Kingdom is a Kingdom of abundance. For all these reasons and more, we want to plant human-scale churches who cultivate a community shaped by the gospel for the renewal of all things.

In late 2023, our hope to plant clarified into a vision as Cornerstone purchased a property at 829 S Rockford with plans to start a new congregation–the Cornerstone Rockford Mission–near historic Route 66 in the Pearl District.
