Serve Sunday - 8/30

Each week, in our post-communion prayer, we pray:
And now, Father, send us out to do the work you have given us to do, to love and serve you as faithful witnesses of Christ our Lord.

Ultimately, the communion table is a place where we are filled so that we can be emptied in service of others. We are trying to embrace this principle by setting aside Sunday, August 30 as a day of service.

In lieu of our typical gathering, we will receive communion and then immediately be commissioned out to stock and organize our food pantry and clean our kids' classrooms to prep for the new school year. We also need canned food donations (see donation needs below). We will be done by 11:30am with lunch at Mother Road Market to follow.

Donations Needed: Donations can be brought to Rockford on any Sunday and stored in the puppet theater.
